Letter to a Politician




Requirements: This is a formal, polite letter that will be sent to the person of your choice. This letter will contain NO ERRORS whatsoever. You are representing students of your age as well as students of Lewis Central Middle School. Each paragraph needs to have a minimum of four sentences.

Paragraph 1: Introduction:
Include your name, age, and grade
Where do you go to school?
You can include more information about yourself--favorite subject, sports team, hobbies, etc.
What class is this for?
What are we studying?
What is the issue or problem you would like to see addressed & why.
The minimum is one issue. This is for a "C." For a "B," address 2 different issues with a paragraph explaining each issue. For an "A," address 3 different issues with a paragraph explaining each issue.


Paragraph 2 to 4: Body:
For each issue you want to address, give 3 facts (text evidence) to support why your issue is important
What is your solution to the problem?
How will this issue improve the lives of people in your city/state/country?


Final Paragraph: Conclusion:
Summarize why you think your idea would be worth doing. What makes it a great idea?
Why should this person listen to your or take your ideas into consideration?
Thank them for reading your paper
Formal closing (Sincerely)
